Red Ribbon Week

Red Ribbon Week will be Monday, October 22 through Friday, October 26.  

The elementary theme this year will be “I Have the Power to Be Drug-Free”, and prizes will be given away to students during the week.  Elementary will attend an assembly in Clinton on Tuesday, October 23.  The schedule for the elementary dress up days are as follows:

  • Monday: Give Drugs the Boot – dress in western wear and cowboy boots
  • Tuesday: Friends Don’t Let Friends Do Drugs – dress the same as a friend
  • Wednesday: Don’t Get Tied Up in Drugs – wear neckties, hair ties, and tie-dyed shirts
  • Thursday: Follow Your Dreams – wear pajamas
  • Friday: Live Like a Star – dress for the red carpet

The high school theme this year is “Follow Your Dreams:  Be Drug-Free ”’ and the high school will have a door decorating contest for Red Ribbon Week.   Doors will be judged on Monday, October 22.  Prizes will be given to the class with the best door.  The schedule for the high school dress up days are as follows:

  • Monday: We Turn Our Backs on Drugs - wear clothes backward
  • Tuesday: “Red”y to Take a Stand Against Drugs – wear red for the Red Ribbon Rally
  • Wednesday:  Follow Your Dreams – wear pajamas
  • Thursday:  Use Your Head, Don’t Do Drugs – crazy hair day
  • Friday: I Have a Bright Future Without Drugs – career day – dress as the profession you want to have when you graduate

There will also be a drug-free rally on Tuesday, October 23rd at 9 am in the Fine Arts building.  Guest speakers include local officials and featured speaker Taylor Hughes.
